An integrated chain

OCIM’s model combines an industrial process and a compliance pathway.

Two parallel frameworks.

OCIM integrates the artisanal and small-scale gold chain end to end, from the miner partner to the institutional markets. The group sources, processes, trades and delivers responsibly mined and processed gold along a fully traceable pathway.

OCIM operates in Peru through its subsidiary Soleil Metals, which runs the two processing plants at Yacari and Victoria, in the Arequipa region, and holds the relationship with the miner partners. Trading, compliance and financing are conducted from Geneva by OCIM Metals & Mining, under Swiss anti money laundering law.

Our goal: to reconcile the expectations of all players in the value chain.

A truly responsible gold market can only be built from within, by operators present at every link of the chain and capable of transforming it through an ambitious compliance and traceability framework. That is the choice OCIM has made.

The compliance gap between artisanal and small-scale mining and institutional buyers will not close through declarations of intent. It closes through new industry standards applied with consistency and through the trust that only external validation and full transparency can create.

This is how a responsible gold value chain proves it is viable, scales, and endures.

Chairman & CEO, OCIM Group

Four pillars.

What makes the chain defensible: four structural choices that hold the model together.

01

Vertical integration

Every stage of the chain is operated by a group entity. The model depends on no external operator to source and process the metal, and decisions taken at one stage bind the following one.

02

Banking grade compliance

Upstream KYC, rigourous onboarding, continuous monitoring, xTrace traceability. The documentary standards a bank applies to its counterparties is transposed upstream to ASM sourcing.

03

Long term commercial relationships

Multi-year commitments rather than spot transactions. Production volume, compliance maturity, and formalisation progress all compound when partners stay.

04

Swiss regulatory anchoring

OCIM Metals & Mining incorporated under Swiss law, supervised by FINMA under Swiss AMLA. The same anti-money laundering framework that applies to Swiss banks, applied to a gold producer.

What the model delivers.

Three audiences, three promises. One chain.

To buyers

Documented gold from a counterparty that has done the compliance work.

Every ounce traceable from the mining title. Reputational and legal risk eliminated at source. The provenance becomes a commercial argument, rather than a risk to be concealed.

To ASM partners

A fair price, transparently set and audited. A relationship built to last.

Fair pricing referenced to LBMA and audited by an independent third party. Active accompaniment to formalisation, training, technical assistance. Pleasant hospitality.

To other stakeholders

A counterparty designed for institutional engagement: banks, regulators, certification bodies, ecosystem partners.

Compliance posture aligned with banking, regulatory and certification standards. LBMA member, Swiss Better Gold Step 1 certified, agreement with World Gold Council.

Go deeper.

Three doors into the framework, the doctrine, and the legal architecture.

Compliance.

The framework in detail. Upstream KYC, continuous monitoring, xTrace physical traceability, and the Swiss regulatory anchoring that consolidates it all in Geneva.

Impact.

The aggregated field outcomes from the integrated chain. Active partners, formalisation progress, mercury eliminated, certification milestones.

Responsible gold.

The doctrinal definition. Three levels of requirement, one proof apparatus, an opposable standard. The conceptual foundation of the model.

More from our model
