Amalgamation mercury
Elimination of the need for mercury upstream
The group's impact is felt both at Soleil Metals' plants and upstream, among the miners who supply them. 2025 forms the baseline against which future ESG trajectory will be measured.
OCIM makes the elimination of the sector’s main externalities, mercury, informality and unsafe conditions, a condition of commercial relationship. A miner partner enters the chain by meeting a defined standard, and that standard tightens as compliance, formalisation and production mature.
OCIM acts where it holds real leverage: at the mine, through what it requires before it buys, and at the plant, through what it operates and controls directly
2025 is the reference year against which OCIM's transformation will be measured, the first with the compliance framework at full architecture, Swiss Better Gold Step 1 confirmed on both plants, and xTrace extended to full production.
The group progressively eliminates mercury from the sourced material and contains the cyanide used in its place in closed-circuit installations at the plants.
Ore leaves the extraction site without chemical treatment. The reason is that all metallurgical processing takes place in Soleil Metals controlled facilities. Centralised treatment removes the need for mercury at the mine, and returns a higher recovery rate to the miner.
Elimination of the need for mercury upstream
Both plants operate without mercury, on a closed loop cyanidation circuit. Water is recirculated, residues are contained and monitored. Environmental baselines and the HSE management system were built during the year.
baseline to be raised in 2026
The group turns formalisation into a rational economic choice for the miner, ensures workplace safety and fair conditions across plant and supplier operations, and builds constructive relations with the communities in the plants' area of influence.
A support model was defined and deployed in 2025: technical assistance, field engagement, progressive improvement plans. Its purpose is to make safer practice and formal status achievable, and therefore durable.
in the compliance pathway, as at publication
The plants have been restarted and rebuilt to a full industrial workforce within nine months. Safety culture has been built through procedures, inductions and training. Neighbouring communities are treated as long term counterparties, in continuous dialogue with the plants.

The group installs a compliance framework that makes its environmental and social commitments verifiable by third parties.
Due diligence, traceability and responsible sourcing tools are applied to every partner. No ore enters the chain before the file is complete. The Swiss Better Gold model was developed in 2025 for progressive deployment across the supplier base.

Compliance is consolidated at OCIM Metals & Mining SA in Geneva under Swiss anti money laundering law. Country risk is managed at group level. The ESG management framework is being built on the same architecture.
